Alex Tamaki CPDT specializes in Evaluating, Training and Testing Dogs under the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen 10 Step Program. After the dogs are Certified as Canine Good Citizens, we offer volunteers and their dogs to join our Pet Therapy and Children’s Literacy Programs, visiting nursing homes and libraries.
Our Special Needs training is focused on disabled dogs or dog owners who have difficulty with movement and customize a training plan accordingly. For apartment dog training, we train dogs to enter and exit properly on elevators, teach doorway and hallway manners. Indoor crate and potty training for dogs with working owners who work for long hours, with an exercise and feeding schedule that are essential for the modern families.
One of our unique “Pop Up” training methods we use for the “active dog owners” are to meet the dogs and owners at shopping malls where dogs will be passing through crowded environments to become desensitized to noise and other distractions while enjoying walking with their owners. Basic swimming or agility training at the beaches or parks are also one of our “pop up” training programs we offer.
